A LITTLE ABOUT ME & WHAT I BUILD

RISK MINDSET. BUILDER'S CURIOSITY.

From understanding
risk to building
what's next.

I'm Horace, a Hong Kong-based former hedge fund risk specialist, independent trader and AI builder. My experience spans finance, insurance, reinsurance and actuarial analysis. I use that grounding to build useful tools, check outputs carefully and explain the decisions behind the work.

How I got here.

THE SHORT TIMELINE
  1. Turning domain knowledge into products

Building SYNKIFY as my main personal product, alongside Receipt OCR and the PropTradeTalk research platform. AI tools help me implement ideas; review and verification remain part of the work.

  2. Independent trading

Developing a trading practice around risk limits, journaling and review. Passed FTMO’s two-stage 200K evaluation; the July 2025 certificate records my historical rewards.

  3. Hedge fund risk at Oriental Patron

Monitored portfolio risk, worked with portfolio managers and prepared management reporting. Improving repetitive workflows taught me to start with the bottleneck and verify the result.

  4. Insurance, reinsurance and actuarial work

Internships at FWD, Guy Carpenter and Generali developed my experience in actuarial data, treaty research and regional risk analysis.

  5. Risk Management Science at CUHK

Studied Risk Management Science with minors in Finance and Statistics—the analytical foundation behind my work in finance and software.

A trading practice built on discipline.

FTMO / OVERALL REWARDS

$44,317.28

Rewards recorded in my FTMO Overall Rewards certificate. I passed its two-stage 200K evaluation, trading within defined targets and loss limits.

My trading practice connects rule-based decisions, risk limits, journaling and performance review—the same thinking I bring to SYNKIFY.

FTMO is a retail prop trading programme: traders complete an evaluation and may receive rewards under its rules while trading simulated capital. How it works ↗
